Birthday Wishes and Puppy Kisses

On Thursday I celebrated my 23rd birthday with my mom, sister and fiancé. When I got out of work we went for some drinks- great start to the night.

Then we met my mom for dinner at Bennigans! I can not get enough of the Turkey O’Tool. We also had an amazing brownie- I would have taken a picture, but it didn’t last very long…

Then it was off to see Ms. Mandi and have some (more) dessert with the inlaws. I thought about counting the amount of calories I consumed that day, but then decided it was better to be blissfully ignorant (in this situation, at least).

Now on to the best part of birthdays: PRESENTS!

Isn’t it just so cute?! When Dan and I bought our house (which I pretty much bought for the porch) I knew it needed a swing. Dan had this made by a family friend.

This gives you the full effect- in front of the house.

So when we got home and it was time to lay on the couch and unwind, I was welcomed by Mira kisses:

“Happy Birthday, mom!”

(Potential) Running Race Calendar 2102

Hi Friends!

So most of you who know me, will remember that I ran a half marathon, and that I really enjoy running. Well, after taking a year off of training, and many ~~difficult stressful~~ random things happening in my life, I am ~~nervous~~ excited to start looking forward to races in 2012.

I figured if I put it on here it will be more official and all, so here goes:

Al Kayner’s St. Patrick’s Day Race- 8k March
Loons Pennant Race- 5k April(ish)
Dow RunWalk- 10k May 19
Run Through Hell, MI- 10 Miles August
Run for You Heart- 1/2 Marathon September

Ok, so that is what I have so far- I am sure there will be more in there somewhere, but I think this looks like a solid list for right now. I am also hopeful that I will be able to ~~afford~~ run the Rock ‘n Roll Half Marathon in Chicago in September, but we shall see.

I will also be running all the races in my dad’s old T-Shirts- more on that later :)

How do you pick which races you will run?

Go Sport ID

I just order a Go Sport Id! I am very excited about this little running companion for few reasons…

Isn’t it fab? You can write anything you want on them. So I wrote my name and then “Run for your heart. Run for dad” (if any of you don’t know, my father recently passed away from a heart attack).

I am so excited to have this motivation on my runs. There is also room to engrave on the inside some emergency contacts.
